A Tourism Blueprint


The Department of Tourism has created the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) as the "natonal blueprint" to address the key challenges in developing the tourism sector, in a bid to increase the sector's share in the country's total economic output. The NTDP aims to help the country reach its target arrivals of some 10 million international and 35.5 million domestic tourists by 2016.

The Department of Tourism has created the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) as the "national blueprint" to address the key challenges in developing the tourism sector, in a bid to increase the sector's share in the country's total economic output. The NTDP calls for the total investment of P265 billion to help the country reach its target arrivals of some 10 million international and 35.5 million domestic tourists by 2016.

The AIM – ALT Center for Tourism, in partnership with the Department of Tourism, will be holding its second Public Presentation, entitled “Tourism is Everybody’s Business:  A Public Presentation on the Department of Tourism’s National Tourism Development Plan.” This event will be on the 21st of May 2013, Tuesday, 1-5 pm at the Meralco Caseroom of the Asian Institute of Management.

DOT Undersecretary of Tourism Planning and Promotions Daniel Corpuz will give light to the in-depths of this plan, including the strategic directions and programs to be undertaken. Secretary Ramon Jimenez is also expected to deliver a keynote address.
