AIM and DLSU joined forces in a case writing seminar
The Asian Institute of Management – Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism and the De La Salle University – Center for Business Research and Development entered into a joint undertaking to co-organize the AIM-DLSU Case Writing Workshop for the faculties and researchers of the Ramon V. Del Rosario College of Business (RVRCOB) and the Asian Institute of Management (AIM).
The seminar focused on enhancing research network building amongst faculty and research scholars. During the seminar, the participants were introduce to: (1) using a teaching case; (2) writing a teaching case; and (3) understanding the basics of a multimedia case
The first leg of this workshop happened last 20 March 2015 at the Faculty Center of De La Salle University. It was facilitated by Prof. Fernando Y. Roxas, Executive Director of the Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism. Ms. Ma. Andrea C. Liamzon, Research Coordinator of the Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism, shared her experience in creating a multimedia case. Also, Dr. John Paolo R. Rivera, Program Manager of the Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism, discussed the elements of the case plan and the rules for the writeshop. A total of 35 participants, from the various schools of the De La Salle Philippines schools and the Asian Institute of Management, joined the said seminar.
The second leg is scheduled on 15 May 2015 at the Asian Institute of Management. The basics of a teaching note will be introduced, the structure of a case plan will be discussed in depth, and a writeshop will be conducted. Participants are expected to have a case study in mind or a preliminary case outline or draft to facilitate the writeshop.
Case studies produced in this workshop will be showcased in a public presentation tentatively scheduled on August 2015.
