Since the foundation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 1967, member economies in the region have submitted itself to further advance economic integration. The most recent is the establishment of an ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015, which is a major milestone in the regional economic integration agenda offering opportunities in the form of a huge market of USD 2.6 trillion and over 622 million population. This conduct of the Asian Barometer (AB) survey (i.e., second round) puts the youth as the primary focus because of their critical role in the success of any move towards regional economic integration.
