The significance of technology in tourism has rapidly amplified. With the advancements in Internet usage and mobile platforms, the travel and tourism (T&T) industry has been compelled to orient its marketing strategies to incorporate the realities of contemporary times – availability, interactivity, and search capabilities (Nath & Menon, n.d.). As emphasized during the ad:tech Roadshow Manila 2015, "digital has been an essential part of the marketing mix and will grow in importance more so over the years. New technologies are constantly emerging and trends moving so quickly. All eyes are on Asia as opportunities in the developing markets continue to grow."
